According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (May 23 to 24):

Cases reported:

• Residential burglary: 5
• Theft: 4
• Hijacking: 1 (Benoni case)
• Tampering with infrastructure: 1
• Attempted murder: 1
• Reckless driving: 1
• Theft from motor vehicle: 1
• Vicious dog: 1
• Shoplifting: 1

Arrests:

• Contempt of court: 1
• Possession of drugs: 1
• Shoplifting: 3
• Speeding: 4

Attempted murder:

• A man was taken to the Far East Rand Hospital last night (Thursday) after he was shot in the foot.

The incident took place at an address along Goods Road around 7.15pm.

No further information was available at the time of publication.

Burglary:

• Dikbas Crescent, Leachville.

The break-in took place on Tuesday.

Stolen: A DVD player, a wristwatch and perfume.

• Sports Way, Anzac.

The home was burgled on Wednesday.

Stolen: A laptop, a cellphone and a set of car keys.

• Hoy Avenue.

The residence was broken into on Wednesday.

Stolen: Cash and a pair of tekkies.

• Derby Avenue.

The burglary occurred on Wednesday.

Stolen: Tools and clothes.

• Etosha Avenue, Dalpark Extension Six.

The break-in took place yesterday.

Stolen: A TV and a sound system.

Theft from motor vehicle:

• Truck batteries were stolen from an address along Prince George Avenue in Brenthurst, yesterday.
