• September 28

The Windy Corner Shellhole will host a Scottish Mini Highland Games and Dinner Dance from 11 am at Cosy Corner situated at 12 Zeeman Street, Brenthurst. There will be craft beer, a flea market, militaria stalls, activities for children and more. Contact Johann Jungbauer (082 689 022) or Ray Mabbutt (072 407 4168).

• An exciting spring music concert, featuring some of the best singers in Gauteng will be held at the NG Kerk, Moedergemeente at 3 pm. Artists include Albert Aldrich, Lanie Coertzer, Khumbu Dhlamini, Phiwe Makaula, Siphokazi Stofu and Tracey-Lee Booyens. For more information and bookings contact Albert Aldrich (071 141 4938).

• A community bring-and-braai will be held by the Brakpan CPF from 10 am. The event will take place at Laerskool Die Arend’s sports grounds. All community members are welcome. For more information contact Tinus Jordaan (083 768 5506).

• 5 Oktober

’n Fondsinsameling ten bate van Karlien Roets word vanaf 6nm by die Brakpan Rugbyklub aangebied. Daar kan uitgesien word na ’n musiekfees met verskeie kunstenaars. Besoek www.karlienroets.co.za vir meer inligting.

• ’n Mini mark word vanaf 9vm tot 3nm by die Eric Holdtman Dienssentrum en die Frank Mynhardt Sorgsentrum gehou. Vir meer inligting en om stalletjies te bespreek kontak vir Elsie Botha (011 740 9565).

• 11-13 Oktober

‘n 50-jarige reünie word vir die 1969 matrieks van die Hoër Meisieskool Stoffberg gereël. Persone wat die skool vanaf 1965 tot 1969 bygewoon het word gesoek. The Brakpan Homecrafts Society meets every first Tuesday of the month at St Peter’s Anglican Church Hall at 10 am. New members are welcome. For more information, contact Jane Donker (011 915 2539).

• A Narcotics Anonymous meeting for people who have a problem with drugs, or think they may have a problem with drugs, is held every Tuesday at 7.30pm at the St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 74 Queen Avenue.

• Wednesday

The East and Woodworkers Association meets every third Wednesday of the month at 6 pm at the Northmead Methodist Church. All interested in woodwork or woodcarving are welcome. Call Les Sales (082 677 7097).

• The Hospice charity shop situated at the corner of Prince George and Kitzinger avenues (133 Kitzinger Avenue) has a half-price sale on all clothing items every Wednesday.
