His most recent album release is Kortbroek, Langkouse. In his unique style, de Villiers shows how much fun you can have with piano music and some hilarious stories in between.
According to de Villiers, it’s great to be back on the stage.
“All of us in the entertainment industry have been through a rough time, but now we are back and we are asking our fans to come and support us now,” he said.
“There is nothing like real live theatre entertainment.”
Frans Swart, managing director of Lefra Productions, is excited and grateful to be back with live theatre.
“We really went through a tough time during lockdown,” he said.
“Live theatre is our lifeblood and it is wonderful to be back with high quality theatre productions.
“We still have to limit our audiences to very low numbers.
“This, however, means all patrons attending these shows will have a close and personal experience with the artists. A luxury you will not experience in future.”
The other Applause concerts that will take place over the next few weeks are:
• Songstress Helene Bester pays tribute to the iconic Nana Mouskouri on October 15 at 7pm.
• Mathys Roets launches his new production Reën on October 18 at 3pm.
• Laugh out loud at the differences between men and women with Wynand van Vollenstee in the hilarious Groet die Grotman 2 on October 30 at 6.30pm.
