Back-to-back victories for local golf star
A local golfer is making waves on the fairways after securing two tournament victories in as many weeks, proving to be one of the region’s standout talents.
Local golfer Christy Raper won two golf tournaments in as many weeks, cementing his name in the amateur golf world as a champion to beat.
From May 11 to 13, he competed against 119 top amateurs in the country in the Prince’s Grant National Amateur Invitational Tournament (PGNAIT) in KwaZulu-Natal, where he played -3 in four rounds, winning by three shots.
This is the second year he has been invited to the tournament.
On the weekend of May 23 and 24, he competed in the Highland Gate Open in Dullstroom, where he played -6 over two rounds, winning by one shot.
