Armed robbery in Blybank: Woman attacked in her home

Police are investigating.

A shocking armed robbery took place on the evening of May 22 in Dove Street, Blybank, leaving a local woman traumatised. The victim, who supports herself by selling live chickens from her home, was targeted in a calculated attack by three men posing as customers.

At approximately 21:30, the first suspect arrived and purchased a chicken without raising suspicion. Minutes later, another man came to buy a chicken. When the woman opened the security gate to hand it over, he suddenly pulled out a firearm and forced her back inside.

He was quickly joined by the earlier customer and a third accomplice. The robbers demanded money and ransacked the house, fleeing with cash and three cellphones.

Too traumatised to act immediately, the woman reported the crime to the police the following morning. Authorities have confirmed that the case is under investigation. No arrests have been made at the time of publication.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
