A resident of Khutsong Extension 5 had a terrifying experience when armed criminals targeted his home during the early hours of June 18.

The incident occurred at about 00:30 while the man, who is in his 60s, was asleep on a couch in his living room.

He was suddenly awakened by a loud bang at the door as two unknown men forced their way into the house.

The armed suspects demanded gold and cash, but the resident told them he did not have any.

The robbers then took all the cash they could find, along with three cellphones and a tablet, before fleeing the scene.
