Piatto puts a smile on children’s faces

BASSONIA – On Wednesday, June 24, Meals on Wheels, in partnership with Piatto Comaro, held their second Sandwich Experience.
The staff of Piatto Comaro split into teams in order to make sandwiches for the hungry. Some of the staff made mince sandwiches, others made polony and tomato sauce sandwiches, and then, of course, there was the team who made peanut butter and jam sandwiches.
The enthusiasm and participation from the staff at Piatto was wonderful. Everyone was working hard and fast to make as many sandwiches as they could between 09:00 and 11:00. The excitement was so high, that even the customers got involved.
A total of 2 000 sandwiches was made in two hours.
The Meals on Wheels vans arrived at 11:00 to collect the sandwiches so that they could be distributed to poor communities in the South of Johannessburg.
All Piatto branches will have a turn to make sandwiches for the poor.
“Thank you to Piatto for joining Meals on Wheels in the Sandwich Experience Project,” said Simone Burts from Meals on Wheels.
