New operational head at Waterstone

The new head has a vision of sustaining the ongoing success at the high school

WATERSTONE College is proud to announce their new operational head of the high school, Mr Matthew Ridgway.

Ridgway has a vision of sustaining the ongoing success at the high school as he does not see a need to fix what is not broken.

Talking about his time at Waterstone College, Ridgway said: “My experience has been a positive one, the people here are amazing. I’ve been very fortunate and I couldn’t ask for a better place where I’m starting my position as operational head of school.”

The new operational head studied a BSc, majoring in genetics and botany, at the University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg, and completed a higher diploma in education (post grad) at the education faculty.

“I am the national portfolio moderator for information technology at the IEB. I love software and database; I’m fascinated by educational pedagogy, particularly how we exploit technology for the best benefit,” said Ridgway.

He’s worked at seven other schools in different provinces and overseas in England and looks forward to his time at Waterstone.
