Business keeps cold at bay for elderly

Johannes van der Nest from the old age home thanked Amanda for her generous gesture.

BELLAVISTA Old Age Home received clothing from one of the franchise companies of Mollywood Maids in Mulbarton on Tuesday, June 14.

Amanda Machaka, director of the company said they started last year to ask their clients to donate clothes that they were no longer using. Because they offer a cleaning service, they requested that whenever their clients clean out their wardrobes that they consider donating any old clothes.

Amanda and three of her staff members, Plaxidis Dokora, Beatrice Mthimkhulu and Lovecia Chuene came to deliver the clothes.

“We started this project with Bellavista Old Age Home in mind, as we are based in the South, it is befitting to donate these clothes to these residents. After collecting the clothes we then washed and ironed them. Most of these clothes are still in good condition and others are new. We would like to thank our clients because they are really the ones who made this possible. We will do this regularly as seasons change, and our clients are reminded to please keep their clothing as we will be collecting again,” she said.

Johannes van der Nest from the old age home thanked Amanda for her generous gesture. “As the elderly in Bellavista, we appreciate what Mollywood Maids has done for us. Also for the fact that this will be an ongoing programme, we are delighted,” he said.
