AS schools opened its doors earlier this month and some for the first time, the EFF conducted a widespread campaign where school shoes were given to deserving learners in over 30 schools around the city.
Glenvista Primary School opened in January 2016 and was lucky enough to be visited by James Sofasonke Mpanza (EFF region leadership) and get shoes on January 19, 2018.
“Hundreds of school shoes were handed to learners by the leadership of the EFF as part of its annual back to school campaign to assist schools with registration of learners and to donate school shoes and sanitary towels to underprivileged learners.
“The EFF leadership has declared that education forms part of the DNA of this movement, and that education should be prioritized at all costs and that not a single child or youth should be deprived to access the gates of learning,” read the statement released by Musa Novela, EFF Joburg region chairperson.

The distribution of school shoes was welcomed by all the school’s authorities, teachers, SGB (school governing body) members and more significantly so by the learners.
“This deed is a true reflection of what the EFF stands for, and it is well articulated in the founding manifesto as a pro leftist and a socialist movement.
“The EFF will always be at the forefront to safeguard the rights of learning of each and every school going learner in Johannesburg at all costs,” said Novela.
As mentioned, Glenvista Primary was one of 30 schools to receive the donation of shoes and sanitary towels.
