The Glen Shopping Centre put up its Christmas tree in support of St Mary’s Children Home

There are presently 66 children in St Mary’s and because most of them have no family, Christmas can be a bleak time for them.

CHRISTMAS is coming and so is Santa! The Glen Shopping Centre put up its Christmas tree last week in support of St Mary’s Children Home and is hoping its customers will support this wonderful initiative.

There are presently 66 children in St Mary’s and because most of them have no family, Christmas can be a bleak time for them.

This year you’ll find the Christmas tree at the new customer care kiosk, in front of iStore. As in previous years, you can choose a tag from the tree. Each tag will have girl or boy, an age, clothing size and shoe size and there are also tags for toiletries and grocery items.

If you’d like to support this initiative, remove a tag, buy a gift (details on the tag) or a grocery or toiletry item and give the gift and the tag to one of the friendly staff at the customer care kiosk or at the centre management offices (top floor) or, take the gift/s home and wrap in gift paper. Add the tag to the gift and drop off at the customer care kiosk or centre management offices.

The director of the children’s home, Sonja Harmse, said, “Please open up your hearts this festive season and treat a child to a little something special for Christmas.”

Your generosity will go a long way in making this Christmas very special for the children at the home and there’s just over four weeks to make this dream come true!
