With many lockdown regulations put in place, the CHRONICLE took to the streets this week and asked our readers which lockdown regulation(s) they would change if they could and why?
MEGAN HOWARD: "I would change the regulation on the ban of alcohol. People need to be able to relax after a long week and being under pressure at work. But I will allow alcohol only at home because we are facing a storm."
This is what they had to say:
BM TOOLO: “I think I would change the government’s mindset of taking children back to school. Children must just remain at home because they can conquer the coronavirus, but their parents cannot. Children must just not go to school until the stats decrease.”PRETTYBOY MABENA: “I would lift the ban on alcohol. They should not have banned alcohol in the first place when lockdown was implemented. What is the point of banning it and un-banning it? Alcohol is not the problem here, the people are. Government needs to be stricter with those people.”MMALEHLOHONOLE BOGOSHI: “One thing I would change is not allowing people going back to church. I think it does not make sense for me to go to church while wearing a mask. How will I sing? We are used to hugging and shaking hands. We must stay at home and have live videos of church services.”STUART KHUNGA: “I would open borders. We are here in this country because of work and now we cannot go home to see our families. I would suggest bringing in a curfew when it comes to travelling.
