The Igwe tops charts with his latest offering

He also wants to thank Jimmy Ntuli who gave him a chance to perform at eMthunzini in Rosettenville.

The new sensational singer from Rosettenville, Percy Ngema Indlamlenze aka ‘Kingxpercy The Igwe’, is putting the South on the map with his hit album Type.

This album hasn’t only received success locally but abroad as well, especially in the United States of America.

‘Kingxpercy The Igwe’, who is also a fitness trainer, said other songs in the album include Type Yam, Shona Malanga, Manginawe, Tell Her, Emvakwendlu and Izinyembezi.

“The song Type Yam alone has managed to jump onto commercial radio before even hitting community radio stations. My album was reviewed at Gagasi FM, Durban’s hottest radio station and was named album of the week. Every week the album keeps doing well,” he said.

The COURIER asked him why he goes by the name ‘The Igwe’. He said Igwe is a Nigerian Igbo language which means king.

“I want to be more African and I relate more to Igwe as I’m the king of RnB. The name is popular, people can also relate to it. To me Igwe is a brand because I dance, sing and act at the same time,” he said.

He also wants to thank Jimmy Ntuli who gave him a chance to perform at eMthunzini in Rosettenville.
