Mondeor Recreation Centre now hosts a vaccination site
Recreation Centre opened a vaccination site in Mondeor.
A Covid-19 vaccination site was opened at the Mondeor Recreation Centre on June 2.
“As we all know with this phase of vaccination, we are catering for people 60 years and older. We are happy to see the excitement of the elderly as they are about to be vaccinated,” said Patricia Magingxa, health project manager for Region F.
“People must take note that taking the vaccine does not mean they should stop complying to Covid regulations. They should continue wearing their masks and adhere to social distancing and continuously sanitising. We also still do screening and testing to make sure that we are flattening the curve,” she said.

“The Pfizer vaccine used at this site have two doses. People are receiving their first dose today and they will have to come for the second dose after 42 days. This is to make sure that they are 95 per cent covered from the infection. This will mean if you get sick again it won’t be as bad as a person who has never been vaccinated.”
The facility manager for Kiblerpark Clinic, Granny Stobber, said they are going to be present at the recreation centre for six months.

“We will be here with every rollout of the vaccine. From the first and second phases, we will be still using the same venue.”
She added, “Once people received their vaccination they will be observed for about 10 to 15 minutes.”
She said they do educate patients about the possible side effects.
