Suiderhood residents team up to clean Klipriverburg Nature Reserve

A small group of residents of Suideroord pulled their forces together for a successful clean-up at Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve on June 5.

Ardele Fernandes, the organiser of the event, said the clean-up was for Environmental Day, and they saw the need of cleaning the reserve since it was dirty.

“The reserve was full of litter and to just contribute to Environmental Day, we had to do something about it,” said Fernandes.

“Councillor Tyrrell Meyers, Ban Animal Trading, Bee Kulture, Shane Duthie assisted the group of residents.

“We are hoping the next one will happen during July and that the community will come in greater numbers to join us cleaning up our environment.

“What we have achieved is getting people together to assist in cleaning up the area. We need people to be aware of how important it is to take care of their environment,” she said.
