Nasrene succeeds in the music industry and releases her new single

Born and raised in Glenvista, popstar Nasrene has evolved tremendously in the music industry.

After the success of her debut EP Girl With Feelings and single, Parties In The Park, the singer-songwriter has been working on releasing a brand new track called Headspace.

Nasrene grew up with both parents and two siblings and described her family as one that was always fond of music.

“My parents always surrounded themselves with music, and that is where I started being passionate about sound. I believe I was born an entertainer because I always loved entertaining people,” said Nasrene.

She said she would put on music concerts for her family. At a later stage, music became a form of self-expression for Nasrene. She wanted to convey her emotions the way she knew how.

“I like to describe my music as pop with meaning. The music can be light-hearted, vibey or playful, but the lyrics always mean something more. I love writing about things that are personal to me or inspired by my experiences,” she said.

Headspace is a song about having a powerful mind that if you allow it to, will play tricks on you. It’s about feeling so overwhelmed and needing to take time for yourself.

“I wrote it because that’s how I felt a lot of the time in 2020 and even now. I am sure many others can relate.
“My biggest achievements so far it’s having a song on the 5FM pop chart and having a music video out. Those were my milestones that I am glad to have achieved. It’s only the beginning.

“My biggest hopes and dreams are that we all come out of this pandemic. It has been strenuous on everyone in the music sector as well. I also hope to continue writing and performing my music for as long as it makes me happy,” she said.

Besides music Nasrene is a pharmacist and passionate about being involved in healthcare.
