Testing in the third wave

Assisting people as much as they can in the third wave.

Former councillor Sarah Wissler alongside health workers have been taking charge to help people get tested since the third wave started.

She said it has been hectic on their side and that people are coming in numbers for rapid testing at Glenvista County Club.

“We are still testing people. I take their details on the summary sheet and once we reach 100 people we ask the country club to close the gate. We cannot facilitate more than 100 people in a day,” said Wissler.

She said they could use assistance since there are only six of them who are doing the testing.

“There are other appointments, where the team goes to companies before they come out here to test people. It has been very busy, and that is one of our biggest challenges. We need medical professionals who have time on their hands to come to assist.

Either doctors, nurses or paramedics to come to assist. This will enable us to accept more than 100 people a day.
“We would also like a donation of surgical gloves as we are running out of them for us to work.

“What we have achieved so far is getting to let people know their status. In knowing whether they are positive or not, they know whether they need to be isolated and they can also get advice from the doctor on what they should be taking and what safety precautions they should adhere to,” said Wissler.
