Members of Brackendowns SAPS and Alberton AfriForum made several arrests on August 12 at around 20:30 in Quince Street in Brackendowns.
They responded to reports of a domestic violence complaint.
On arrival, the members found a group of people that was not related to the complaint outside the house.
“While the members of SAPS attempted to solve the domestic issue, they were confronted by the non-related people by means of video recording and interfering in the duties of the members,” said WO Gerhard Cornelius, communications liaison for Brackendowns SAPS.
SAPS members were forced to act, which led to the arrest of three men for charges of impersonating members of the police, possession of drugs (crystal meth and Mandrax), interfering with police duties, possession of stolen property such as jamming devices and tracking units of other stolen vehicles.

Members also confiscated a silver Polo fitted with blue and red strobes as well as fitted emergency lights.
Sgt Riaan Venter wants to convey a message of appreciation to Alberton AfriForum.
“Especially to Donvid and Juandre from AfriForum for assisting the Brackendowns Police Station with this arrest,” Venter said.
