13 Niche Community Market is a diverse group of creative sellers and food traders. The market is open every Saturday at the Walkerville Showgrounds from 09:00 to 14:00. Stallholders sell products like honey, jams, handmade natural soaps, plants, fresh produce, aloe creams, cookies and biscuits, biltong, koeksisters, fudge and candy floss, as well as a variety of crafted goods.

Fresh food vendors include Asian food, boerewors rolls, vetkoek and Indian food. Pop in at the gin bar, enjoy craft beer and ciders and just chill out. The market is pet-friendly. For more information, visit the Facebook page NicheCommunityMarket.

16 Greet the Sun Walk at Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve. All fitness levels are welcome for this walk. Come and enjoy the great outdoors and appreciate nature and sunrise in the Jewel of the South. Bacon roll and coffee afterwards. Bring water, sunscreen, hat, headlamp or torch and walking stick., wear comfortable shoes and remember your smile.

The cost is R100 per person. Booking is essential through Quicket. Limited numbers can be allowed. Booking closes on October 11 for October 16.

24 Guided walk every fourth Sunday of the month at Kliprivier Nature Reserve. Meet at 07:00 to leave at 07:30 sharp at Precinct Entrance, Peggy Vera Road, at the coffee shop.

All fitness levels are catered for this walk, which takes about three hours. Come and enjoy a healthy outdoor experience appreciation of nature in the Jewel of the South. Bring water, a hat, a walking stick and sunscreen. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes.

Donations used for the upkeep of the reserve are charged at R50 per adult, R30 children and can be paid into their account via EFT, Quicket, Snap Scan.

27 Seniors stroll through Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve on the last Wednesday of every month. Depart at 09:00 for the longer walk and 09:30 for the slower, shorter walk.

30 It is all about beer and festivities at Ridge Park Sports Club, George Mann Street, Towerby, on October 30 and 31.
