Moffat View Old Age Home residents invited the community to come and sell their unwanted goods on October 9.
Ward 57 councillor Faeeza Chame said the event was a great success.
“Food, clothing, cutlery and crockery were on sale. Everything was really cheap. There were raffles as well. With Covid-19, lots of people lost their jobs and their pension or Sassa money is not enough to sustain a decent living. The elderly had to do something. This was a good way to get extra income.
“I would like to assist other communities as well to set up their stalls. They can just contact me on 081 329 7424,” she said.
