Marcus wants to spread his wings abroad
Catch Marcus on Showmax this December.
Marcus Molemame (23), a professional actor from Naturena, will be featuring on Showmax this December in a romance comedy movie called A Safe Bet, directed by Kgosana Monchius.
He said acting has been his passion, although he realised his optimal potential in 2017.
“I was studying accounting at the University of Johannesburg when I went to audition for a short film. When I got the part, I never looked back. I just knew that I loved this,” he said.
Since then he featured in five short films, including the 2019 Moya directed by Siyabonga Mbele, which won SAFTA 14 Short Film of the Year.
Recently Marcus was part of an eight-part theatre show called Shakesmod directed by Steven Feinstein. He said this was a play that fuses Shakespeare and modern contemporary pieces. The show was made possible by Indigo View Advance Actors Academy.
He is hosting a comedy show on VisionView TV called Funnyness. You can also catch him on web series on Youtube – Choice Assorted, which is funded by NFVF.
“I aim to go international like Thuso Mbedu. She inspired me as she didn’t go the conventional way. Although I’m aiming for gigs abroad, I can still do TV shows here in South Africa,” noted Marcus.
