You can help stop furry friends from going hungry by donating to the JSPCA.

You can decide how many bags you want to sponsor and the JSPCA will make them up and distribute it. The bags will contain a blanket, dog/cat food, a bowl for food and a box of soup for the owner. The goal is to make up 150 bags before the end of May, with the outreach planned for June.

The JSPCA also has animals up for adoption.

• Puku is a cutie. She is a female mixed-breed and about a year old. Puku has a gentle, soft nature and loves going for walks and exploring. She is good with most other dogs and will be suitable for any family.

• Gus is a beautiful husky/malamute-cross of three years. He is a very friendly and well-socialised dog and will need lots of space and exercise. Knowledge of the breed is important.
