Centre at Brackendowns SAPS revamped

This year Brackendowns SAPS joined forces with the CPF and Youth Sudden Light to revamp the station’s Victim Empowerment Centre.

It was all hands on deck with this project, which aimed at improving the victim-friendly facility in celebration of Nelson Mandela Day.

The theme this year is: ‘Do what you can, with what you have, where you are’.

“The VEC facility is a safe and secure environment at the station to protect the dignity and rights of victims to avoid secondary trauma and victimization while statements are obtained and other vital services are provided. It is important for us that the building represent all this,” said Warrant Officer Gerhard Cornelius from Brackendowns SAPS.
