Bracken High alumni join passions to make private schooling accessible

Alberton’s young leaders and visionaries, Siphokuhle and her brother Prince Ndlovu have joined their passions to bring inclusionary and affordable quality education to a marginalised community.

Bracken High School alumni Siphokuhle (30) and her brother Prince Ndlovu (29) recently made headlines for all the good reasons.

These young leaders and business giants are on a quest to break the chains of the educational gap in impoverished communities. They have joined their passions and expertise to launch a new private school.

As a former teacher, Siphokuhle has partnered with her brother Prince, who has a keen interest in business, to launch Lepro Institute. This is a new private school, aimed at bringing affordable quality education to the community of Bezuidenhout Valley in Johannesburg.

Siphokuhle had an opportunity to see Bracken High School through different stages in her life – as a learner, student teacher and a fully-fledged teacher.

She initially started as a student teacher at Bracken High and was welcomed to the school as an IsiZulu teacher, where she then served for close to a decade, making a significant impact in the lives of many. Her brother, a property asset manager, has a strong entrepreneurial and business academic background.

After noting a high demand for schooling in impoverished communities, the Brackendowns residents decided to make private schooling accessible, offering good quality education. They plan to introduce another branch to cater for the greater Alberton areas.

Beacon of hope

With a vision to make education accessible to all, the new school stands as a beacon of hope, offering children the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream big.

Established in 2022, Lepro Institute is an independently owned private school using the CAPS model. It is a subsidiary of Lepro Corporation, a commercial cleaning and sanitation services company.

The siblings are committed to uplifting communities through academic excellence.

The Ndlovus’ passion for education and their understanding of the importance of quality education led them to embark on this journey of ensuring equal access to educational opportunities.

“We aim to create an environment where education knows no boundaries and where every child can flourish. Where the right to education is not just a concept, but an actualised ideal where we actively enhance the supply of schooling, both by increasing access and by improving the quality of education provided for all,” explained Siphokuhle.

She said Lepro Institute not only serves as a means for the Lepro Corporation to give back to society but also contributes to small businesses such as uniform suppliers and furniture suppliers and provides employment opportunities as the school grows.

When a need arises to lend a helping hand to the community of Alberton and surrounding areas, Prince reiterated that they roll up their sleeves to assist, either through their company or in a personal capacity, adding that they would like to do more.
