Community knits hope for Door of Hope

Handmade teddies, blankets and winter wear are being donated by local groups to bring warmth and comfort to those in need through the Door of Hope initiative.

Local organisations and residents have come together in a heartwarming initiative to support Door of Hope by donating handmade items. Community members have been knitting comfort teddies, beanies, scarves and blankets to assist those in need, with contributions pouring in from various groups across Alberton.

Among those involved are Blunt Front Hair Studio in New Redruth, The Happy Hookers in Randhart, Free Chapel Alberton and Women Rocking Real Estate powered by ZA Prop.

Their combined efforts have resulted in a growing collection of items designed to bring warmth and comfort to vulnerable individuals.

Organisers expressed their gratitude for the support received, noting that it has been inspiring to witness the community come together for a meaningful cause.

In addition to the knitted items, there is an ongoing call for donations of blankets, scarves, gloves and beanies for the homeless and less fortunate. Residents who would like to get involved or contribute to the initiative can contact Dorene at 083 556 8810 or Chantelle at 066 233 3249.
