South Hills moms receive Mother’s Day spoils

The shopping therapy and quality time spent together made the moms feel special.

This past Mother’s Day, community moms were treated to a heartwarming event that celebrated their invaluable contributions with generosity and support.

Held at The South Rand Recreation Centre, the event featured free shopping for pre-loved clothing, a delicious lunch and a special gift from Kindness Like Confetti, ensuring each woman left with a bra.

The venue was lively with excitement as moms from across the community gathered to browse through the wide selection of gently used clothing. The organisers made sure there was something for everyone, with a variety of styles and sizes available.

The free clothing giveaway aimed to provide practical support while also allowing the moms to enjoy a bit of retail therapy without worrying about costs.

Lunch, generously provided by Hungry Lion, added a delightful touch to the day’s activities. Attendees enjoyed a tasty meal and chocolates, turning the event into a festive gathering. The meal provided an opportunity for the moms to relax, connect and share stories over delicious food.

The special gift, this essential item, often overlooked in charitable initiatives, was a much-appreciated gift that highlighted the care and support that moms need.

There was a variety of items for everyone.

Event project leader, Mandy Naidoo, expressed her gratitude to all the sponsors and volunteers who made the day possible. “Our goal was to show these incredible women how much they are appreciated,” she said.

“Thanks to the generosity of Hungry Lion and the kindness of organizations like Kindness Like Confetti, we were able to make this Mother’s Day Event truly special.”
