Turffontein Primary School won the 9th Annual Horizon High School Soccer Tournament on May 19.
Horizon High School hosted the event where 22 primary schools in the southern suburbs region and beyond battled it out in the field. The teams each featured seven players and played for 10 minutes.
Sport coordinator Adam Mbele said the primary schools participated in the very highly competitive games with the defending champions WH Coetzer Primary School present and putting on a fight to defend their title. They won last year but the competition was too stiff this year.
