Traffic Alert: Tanker causes major delays near Booysens Off-Ramp on M1

JMPD has confirmed a heavy traffic build-up near the Booysens off-ramp after a tanker crossed the middle island. Motorists are urged to avoid the area.

The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) has issued a traffic advisory following a tanker that went over the middle island near the Booysens off-ramp on the M1.

Although no accident has been reported, the vehicle’s position is causing significant congestion on both the M1 North and South, as well as on the N1 South heading towards Bloemfontein and Vereeniging.

Traffic is also affected in the opposite direction.

Emergency services and JMPD officers are on scene, directing traffic and working to ease the flow.

The situation is ongoing, and motorists can expect long delays through the area.

Drivers are strongly advised to seek alternative routes and to remain patient if travel through the affected zone is unavoidable.
