Pikitup warns public of scam messages impersonating its managing director

Fraudulent WhatsApp and SMS messages request money from recipients, residents urged not to respond and to report the matter to SAPS.

Pikitup warns the public of fraudulent messages circulating on social media, falsely claiming to be from its managing director and requesting money from recipients.

Pikitup confirms that its managing director, Bukelwa Njingolo, did not authorise such requests.

The company does not seek funds, payments or personal details from stakeholders or the public through private messages or social media.

These false messages were circulated via WhatsApp and SMS.

The matter was reported to the SAPS.

Pikitup warns those receiving these messages not to respond, transfer money or provide personal details and to report the contact to the authorities.
