Mondeor pool hall murder case: Magistrate postpones case till July

The defense in the case continues to exercise caution amid safety concerns.

A 19-year-old is facing a murder charge after allegedly fatally stabbing another teenager (18) at Ballbreakers, a pool hall in Mondeor on April 5, 2025. The case was heard at the Booysens Magistrate’s Court on May 27. Magistrate Vele had to fill in for another magistrate who was on sick leave, causing major delays at the court. When the case was called, the accused was once again present in court virtually. The defence attorney, Kruger, told the court that he was prepared for a pretrial conference. Prosecuting attorney, Pashadi, was not ready for the conference as State witnesses were not finalised. The State could not confirm if they would be calling witnesses. Magistrate Vele then postponed the case till July 2. ALSO READ: Mondeor pool hall murder case postponed once again
