Partial lane closure: M1 northbound from Booysens to Crown Interchange

JRA will notify the motorists on completion of the road maintenance works.

Heads up from JRA, the left lane on the M1 northbound from Booysens to the Crown Interchange will be partially closed while they carry out essential road maintenance.

Closure details:

• Route: M1 northbound

• Affected section: Slow lane (left lane) between Booysens and Crown Interchange

• Duration: Until further notice

Traffic Impact: Motorists should expect lane reductions and possible traffic build-up during the temporary lane closure period. The remaining lanes will remain open, but delays are anticipated, particularly during peak travel times.

Advisory to motorists:

• Slow down when approaching the work zone.

• Obey all road signs and traffic cones. These are in place to guide you safely through the area.

• Be aware of temporary traffic accommodation measures, including lane shifts and merging points.

• No unnecessary stopping or abrupt lane changing within the work zone.

• Protect JRA’s workers, and please exercise extreme caution and refrain from any distraction while driving through the maintenance area.

The JRA apologises for any inconvenience caused and assures road users that these maintenance works are necessary to preserve road safety and infrastructure quality.

Alternative route suggestion (optional): Motorists may consider using Booysens Road as an alternative northbound route to access the CBD.
