The Bag Lady

What's The Bag Lady been up to this week? Checking out winter warmers, buying in the sales and baking a few muffins!

Shopping, that’s what it’s all about but do you too have a “great” shopping experience one day and then another a disaster? That happened to me last week.

On the Sunday I went to The Glen Shopping Centre and everything went swell. Boardman’s had between 40 and 50 per cent off most of their stock and I bought an electric blanket, the luxury one, for the same price I would have paid for a mediocre one at Game or Clicks and I also bought two lamps and lamp shades. Such bargains! I wasn’t the only one buying though. Many customers had trollies full. I know “they” say we’re in a recession but those cards carry on buying!

Next stop was Mr Price Home and I bought everything I’d set out for and finally Woolworths had 30 per cent off some of their winter goods and I picked up a couple of bargains there. I felt on a high for the rest of the day.

Not so a few days later, mainly though because I had to go to the bank and it proved very tiresome. I know I should do internet banking and I will, one of these days. I had to renew two car licences too and nearly fell over when the cashier at the post office asked for just over R900. I told her I was certain my last licence was only R220, and she said that’s for a car trailer, so I said I must have been driving one of those then! At least it made her laugh, as well as some of the other customers standing in the queue. All the shops I went into that day, there was some kind of problem and it was not a good shopping experience at all.

Buy now

I’m sure you’ve noticed how many sales there are now and you really can save money. Keep a lookout and you’ll be sure to find some great bargains.

What’s new?

Are you going to be doing some baking anytime soon? Woolworths have a few new baking products. Try the Milk Chocolate Chunks, creamy chunks perfect for home baking. Add them to vanilla or chocolate muffins or scones. You could even sprinkle some over ice cream, R26.95 for 100g. Or try the Milk Chocolate and White Chocolate Drops, 200g for R45.99.

Woolworths really have extended their baking products and you’ll find nearly everything you require, for all kinds of delicious goodies to make yourself.
