WATCH: Union rugby plays at GLRU day
With the Pre-season starting at Union Junior Club on May 27 there’s still time to register your child to be part of the club.
Union Junior Rugby Club participated in the Golden Lions Rugby Union (GLRU) Junior Rugby Day hosted at Emirates Airline Park on April 23.
The day attracted many clubs from the area and saw some tight matches before the main match, where the Emirates Lions faced Connacht.
Union had three teams participate in the games, namely an u-6 team, an u-7 team and an u-8 team.
Union u-6’s lost all of the four games they played against pirates and Northern Cats with 5-0, 4-0, 3-0 and 2-0.
The u-7’s won both the match they played against Alberton with 4-0 and 3-0 against Roodepoort.
U-8’s saw mixed results winning one with 4-0 against Wasp’s, Losing 3-0 against Pirates before drawing against Pirates 1-1.
After the matches, all the boys went for a victory lap around the stadium with both parents and spectators cheering on the little boys.

Practice times are Friday evenings from 17:00 to 19:00 at the Klipriviersberg Recreational Centre located in Peggy Vera Road, Kibler Park.
