South Africa will be sending one team in each of these categories with a total of 64 players including umpires and officials, with nine countries participating.

Monique, who is a Grade Seven learner at Laerskool President Steyn, needs R58 000 for the tour. This will cover travelling and accommodation expenses.

Coach Gary Grosskopff said Monique started she has grown tremendously in the sport after starting playing for the U10s.

“She was selected through a trial process to represent Southern Gauteng in the interprovincial tournaments in May. SA selectors then identified her and she was selected to attend a boot camp to pick the final national squads,” he said.

He described her as a humble cricketer who conducts herself in the most professional way ever as a youngster.
