Classico FC celebrates outstanding players

The Glenvista football team celebrated an outstanding season in 2025 by taking home three trophies.

The Classico FC held its second prize-giving at the Bokang Mosia Foundation Centre in Mondeor on December 13.

The prizes recognised the achievements of its young players.

Special guest Madiba Mawane, affectionately known as ‘Skorokoro’, a former professional player for the Moroka Swallows and the Free State Stars, attended.

The U12 team scored two trophies, winning the League and Plate Cup, and had several standout players, including Khetho Mataboge, named player of the season, and Raphael Viera, the players’ player of the season.

Other notable winners included:

• Tlhompho Takalo (U13 player of the season);

• Junior Sithole (U15 player of the season); and

• Boi’khutso Tala (U13 most-improved player).

The U12 team also earned the team of the season award for their impressive performances.

The club had a successful year, winning three trophies and producing talented players who excelled in school competitions.
