WATCH: La Rochelle lifts Horizon soccer tournament trophy

La Rochelle Primary School defeated defending champions Rewlatch Primary School 3-0 to win the 11th Horizon International High School Soccer Tournament.

La Rochelle Primary School won the recently held Horizon International High School Soccer Tournament.

It was the 11th edition of the annual primary schools soccer tournament, where the Grade Sevens and U13 players battled it out on the field.

A total of 24 primary schools from Johannesburg south and beyond participated in the tournament.

Organiser Adam Mbele congratulated the winners. “Congratulations, La Rochelle Primary School, who won the 2026 tournament after defeating the defending champions, Rewlatch Primary School, by 3-0.

Congratulations also to Turffontein Primary School, who are also former winners who took home bronzeafter defeating Yeoville Boys by 2-1,” he said.

The purpose of this tournament is to create cohesion and friendship among schools in the south and beyond. Horizon International High School looks forward to hosting another tournament in 2027.
