Men in Tutus to amaze and entertain audiences

See Men in Tutus at The Teatro, Montecasino for four shows only from April 12 to 14.

BE dazzled by dancing, delighted by drollness and diverted by divas in drag! Men in Tutus will soon occupy the stage at The Teatro, Montecasino, and delight audiences for four shows only from April 12 to 14.

‘Male ballerina’ is usually a term used in error by a rookie arts writer. However, Les Ballets Eloelle (led by founder, artistic director and lead dancer Victor Trevino) features an ensemble of such dancers – men dancing in roles traditionally reserved for women.

Although you can imagine the comedic aspect of this show, the hilarity never undermines the challenges of performing the complex choreography or the exceptional results, making the show a thrill to watch.

Men in Tutus features dancers from the USA, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, the Philippines, Australia, Colombia, the Isle of Wight and Japan, underlining the global appeal of ballet, dance and comedy.

This ties in wonderfully with the objectives of Les Ballet Eloelle – cultivating new audiences for dance through comedy, performing for audiences who may not have access to ballet, as well as preserving the integrity and standards of excellence in the ballets they perform and educating audiences about this art form.

Be sure not to miss this delightful, one-of-a-kind performance from April 12 to April 14. The shows commence on Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 3pm and 8pm and Sunday at 2pm at The Teatro, Montecasino. Ticket prices range from R200 to R400 and bookings can be made through www.computicket.com
