Spectacular circus comes to Montecasino
FOURWAYS - A spectacle of daring acts played out to classical tunes is set to awe Montecasino's Teatro audiences.
Aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers and balancers are just some of the acts audiences will see in the Cirque de la Symphonie.
While the circus act has travelled the globe, performing at the Sydney Opera House and San Francisco Opera House, the performance will have local flare as it is performed to the sounds of the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, lead by international conductor Theodore Kuchar.
Show promoter Charl van Heyningen is looking forward to this collaboration. “Brilliant circus acts, a world class orchestra and Johannesburg’s premier entertainment venue can only lead to a spectacular event,” he said.
The show will be held on two days and 85 percent of the tickets are already sold out.
“To have some of the best circus acts in the world perform is very exciting, as well as well-known classical masterpieces, is not something audiences experience every day. This is truly a brilliant show on every level.”
He said audiences could expect glitzy and glamorous costumes to add to the circus experience.
“A combination of circus and classical music is like experiencing a top class fireworks show with vibrant classical music. It is simply spectacular.”
