The city by speedo

SANDTON - When in Sandton, do as the DAREdevils do.

A group of speedo-clad testicular cancer ambassadors took on the busy streets of the Sandton business centre on Friday morning to promote the annual DAREdevil run, happening in November.

The ‘stamspeedo’ through Sandton’s pulsing streets was joined by Julie Hendricks of the movement, I wear red socks on Fridays.

This movement is dedicated to making a difference by showing union with various causes by wearing red socks on Fridays and will donate R10 of every pair of socks sold during November to the DAREdevil run.

The fifth DAREdevil Run will take place on 8 November along a short route through the streets of Johannesburg.

Men of all shapes and sizes in Durban, Cape Town, Pretoria, Dullstroom, Grahamstown, George, Richards Bay and the Midlands will also join the fun.

The organisers aim to have more than 2 000 runners take part in each city, which will be a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of speedo-clad men in one place.

More of these morning runs building up to the main run in november is on the cards, follow organiser Kurt Solomon on twitter for updates at @kurtsol, or the DAREdevil run twitter feed.
