Africa's top female MMA stars delivered high-octane action as champion Amanda Lino retained her crown with a dramatic submission victory, while breakout performances set the stage for future title fights.

EFC 134 lived up to its billing as a memorable night of mixed martial arts action, headlined by a clash between two of the continent’s top female champions.

Reigning women’s flyweight champion Amanda Lino successfully defended her title against Nigerian challenger Juliet Chukwu in a hard-fought battle that showcased the pinnacle of women’s MMA in Africa. Both athletes traded moments of dominance across the rounds before Lino locked in an armbar submission at 00:03:28 of the third round to secure the win and retain her belt.

The victory cements Lino’s status as one of EFC’s most accomplished champions, while dashing Chukwu’s ambitions of holding titles in two divisions simultaneously.

Earlier on the main card, Thapelo Seabi turned in what could be the biggest win of his career, outpointing highly regarded flyweight contender Sisa Jungula via unanimous decision over three rounds. The result firmly positions Seabi as a top contender in the division.

In the lightweight division, Khanyo Maqam made a powerful statement by stopping veteran Vince Bembe in the third round. Maqam’s composed and increasingly dominant performance earned him a performance bonus and boosted his profile in one of EFC’s deepest divisions.

Other results saw Godfrey Mkhwanazi defeating William Lekana by unanimous decision, Tebatso Molele outlasting Lecture Gumbi in a Fight of the Night bout, Glody Kanzeko earning a majority decision over Alex Suzuki, Bruce Mayasi stopping Andile Gasa in the third round, Garcia Kinkela taking a unanimous decision against Boyka Botha, and Stefan Diedericks securing a quick first-round triangle choke submission over Thembani Mhlanga. Alex Kapinga and Nasiphi Vellem fought to a split decision draw.
