A new baby nursery was opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony by Patricia Clark, brand manager for Junior Colleges and Megan Hunt, principal of Junior Colleges Fourways.
Implementing the early year foundation curriculum with age appropriate, stimulating and educational toys will be qualified teachers, Bridget Chisenga and Friedah Khumalo.
Chisenga will head up the baby centre in Fourways. She has extensive experience in nursing and has done an early
childcare development course. She has worked in peadiatric wards across the country and was in charge of the Discovery Creche – and for the last couple of years has fulfilled the most important the role of all, being a mom herself and raising three children.
“She always shows passion, energy, enthusiasm and compassion when working with children and that is why they love her”, said Clark. Khumalo will be assisting Chisenga.
She has been with Junior Colleges since 1985. “She is the diamond in the crown and has an inborn ability to connect and give excellent care to any little one,” continued Clark.
“Each child’s day is structured appropriately to maximise the interest and stimulation of their individual needs, so that they can enjoy learning in a happy, relaxed yet very effective way. The children are continuously observed and assessed, with the findings being recorded in the child’s individual portfolio which is available for mums and dads (or grandparents) to consult at their
leisure”, said Hunt.
Junior Colleges Fourways offers care to children from an early age. “As parents and teachers we all know that a child’s early years are the most formative… it is an extremely precious time. Therefore our objective at Junior Colleges Fourways is to allow each individual child the opportunity to explore and develop, as well as build a partnership with parents as each precious little one grows to the next phase and stage of their life at Junior Colleges,” Hunt said..
