City Lodge switches off for Earth Hour.
MAGALIESSIG - City Lodge Fourways did its bit for Earth Hour on 29 March.
Earth Hour was from 8:30pm to 9:30pm in South Africa. During this time millions of people around the world switched off their lights as a symbolic gesture to show their commitment to taking positive actions for the planet.
On the day City Lodge Fourways switched off all air conditioners, reduced lighting to a minimum and replaced it with candlelight in the reception area and lobby.
Across the country the City Lodge Hotel Group saved Eskom more than 500 megawatts during Earth Hour.
Staff and guests participated in the novelty of the hour, but also recognised the importance of its contribution to energy saving and the environment.
