Bikini car wash pleases pups
BROADACRES - Ark Animal Centre's bi-annual bikini car wash was a massive success.
The car wash was held at Broadacres shopping centre. The idea was to raise funds for the animal shelter in a fun way.
Ark Animal Centre, based in Chartwell, is South Africa’s leading animal shelter for puppies, pregnant mother dogs and small dogs.
The shelter’s Candice Eilertsen said that on the day they washed over one hundred cars, bikes and even a bus. With the help of the gorgeous car-washers from Pretty Promoters, the shelter managed to raise over R9 000. Eilertsen said that the money will go towards building the teenager housing section at the shelter.
Miss South Africa 2012, Helga Barkhuizen, and Jonathan Boynton-Lee from Top Billing also showed up on the day to lend their support, demonstrating just how well-known and well-liked Ark Animal Centre is.
