‘The future is ecocentric’

FOURWAYS - An eco-living approach to air conditioning attracted around 80 delegates nationwide to The Future is Ecocentric conference at the Indaba Hotel.

Fourways Airconditioning South Africa talked about introducing eco-living activities in the air conditioning and heat pump fields. Delegates were welcomed by Graeme Takis and Wil Jansen of Fourways Airconditioning and the divisional head of Digital Air and Samsung Electronics, Michael McKechnie.

Director of Alliance Heat Pumps, Wil Jansen, said their primary intention in running an eco-conference was to “encourage companies currently engaged in green activities to diversify their scope of activities”.

“We want to keep our dealers informed of the latest trends and opportunities in the market,” said Jansen. The eco-friendly movement is rapidly gaining momentum, and they believe that companies stand to gain by enlarging their offerings through providing a range of solutions. Fourways Airconditioning South Africa offers a comprehensive selection of top quality brands to support green solutions. They offer domestic and commercial heat pumps, light-emitting diode lighting and energy efficient air conditioning.

Samsung’s Robert Larkan spoke about Samsung’s ‘eco home’ and tool data management systems, while Nancy Waterson, also of Samsung, outlined the advantages of the new Triangle air conditioning range.

Tomsong Chen and Frankie Wu, from the international factory that manufactures Alliance Heat Pumps, presented information on the upgraded domestic heat pump unit and introduced the new Alliance commercial sizes that would be available soon.

Peter Muller of Palabora Mining Company closed the day with a summary of the new National Building Regulations from an architect’s perspective.

“Feedback from the conference has been very positive,” said Jansen.

“Many attendees wanted more details of the eco-friendly range of products offered by Fourways Airconditioning South Africa,” added Jansen.

“We believe that as a national brand, we are now in a good position to assist many companies to further expand their range of eco-friendly offerings,” he concluded.
