MONTECASINO - South African music powerhouse PJ Powers is set to launch her book Here I am at Montecasino.
The book is more than just a story about the personal journey of PJ Powers. It is set against the turbulent backdrop of South Africa’s recent political history and features anecdotes about political leaders like Nelson Mandela, Chris Hani and Joaquim Chissano as well as international celebrities like Sharon Stone, Brenda Fassie and Robert de Niro. The novel was written with Marianne Thamm, and is an intimate and hilarious account of the life and times of Thandeka, as Powers was affectionately renamed by Soweto crowds during apartheid.
On Sunday, 10 August, at 3:30pm, Powers will take to the stage at Montecasino and give a once-in-a-lifetime performance, after which she will conduct a meet and greet session and a book signing at Skoobs Theatre of Books.
Jacaranda presenter, Martin Bester, will also conduct a live question and answer session with Powers on stage before her performance.
Montecasino is giving away three double VIP tickets to Fourways Review readers. Winners will be invited to the VIP book launch where they will get to meet Powers and will receive autographed copies of her book.
