
According to Warrant Officer Balan Muthan, head of communications for the Douglasdale police, their most recent operation took place on Witkoppen Road on 23 September. During the operation 20 people suspected of being illegal immigrants were arrested and four fines were issued for violation of the Road Traffic Act.
On 19 September 11 people, suspected of being illegal immigrants were arrested during a high visibility operation on Kingfisher Drive in Fourways and around Lonehill. During the operation, eight people were also fined for violating the Road Traffic Act.
Muthan said on 20 September the Douglasdale police conducted liquor compliance inspections at liquor outlets around Fourways. Thirteen outlets were inspected and two outlets were fined for contravening the National Liquor Act.
