Police launch operation in Broadacres as rape suspects sought

Police have carried out an operation at a residential complex in Broadacres as part of an investigation into an alleged sexual offence.

Douglasdale police have conducted an operation at a residential complex in Broadacres following information regarding the possible whereabouts of suspects linked to an alleged sexual offence.

According to information provided to the Fourways Review, a resident at the complex overheard men discussing an alleged incident while near the swimming pool area. The matter was reported to the authorities, prompting police officers to respond to the scene.

Officers inspected the premises and checked areas where suspects were believed to be hiding. No arrests were made during the operation, but police confirmed that investigations are ongoing.

Support and counselling services have since been arranged for the victim and the affected family as the police investigation continues.

Douglasdale Police Station commander Brigadier Veeshani Arikum confirmed that the operation took place, but said further details could not be released at this stage.
