MP acknowledges people of Fourways

FOURWAYS - Cedar Lakes resident and member of parliament, Cameron Mackenzie made a stand for the victims of the Kya Sands shack fire in parliament.

Mackenzie also publicly thanked the people and organisations in the greater-Fourways community for their efforts in helping the victims of the fire. He said more than 3 500 people were tragically left without homes and possessions after the devastating fire on 9 October.

Mackenzie acknowledged the generosity of the residents of Fourways and surrounding areas who worked tirelessly to provide thousands of affected people with food, water, shelter, blankets, clothing and money.

He also mentioned the hard work of the Judah Africa Church, the North Rand Methodist Church, Gift of the Givers, the Children of Fire and the countless other NGO’s and businesses who came out in their hundreds to help. .
