Fourways Crossing drive supports Avril Elizabeth Home
The smallest donations can make a big difference, and Fourways Crossing is giving residents a chance to lend a hand to babies in need.
Adding a packet of baby wipes to a shopping trolley can make a difference to a child in need.
This is why Fourways Crossing is calling on the local community to lend a hand through its Give Love donation initiative, running from September 28 to October 31. The initiative supports Avril Elizabeth Home, with shoppers, residents and retailers encouraged to donate baby care products, non-perishable essentials and gently used baby items in good condition.

Sponsored by Elizabeth Anne’s, Karvol and Milton, the initiative brings together local shoppers, retailers and baby care brands to collect everyday essentials for the babies cared for by Avril Elizabeth Home. Shane Gericke, general manager at Fourways Crossing, said the centre hoped the initiative would make it easy for people to contribute. “Babies may be tiny, but the difference our community can make for them is anything but tiny,” said Gericke. “We are proud to provide a space where our shoppers, tenants and the wider Fourways community can come together and give back in a simple but meaningful way.”
For residents, giving does not have to mean making a large donation. A bottle of baby shampoo, a pack of nappies or another everyday care item can form part of the collection. People can also look through cupboards at home for gently used baby items that are no longer needed but remain in good condition.

Gericke encouraged residents to keep the initiative in mind when doing their weekly shopping and to consider picking up an extra baby essential to donate.
Donations can be dropped into the Give Love collection bin in the Pick n Pay Court at Fourways Crossing.
