Hirsch Fourways gives back

DIEPSLOOT - Representatives from Hirsch home store Fourways, in collaboration with Stop Hunger Now organisation, gave back to a small child care facility allocated in the heart of Diepsloot informal settlement on 4 November.

It was heart-warming to see how excited children got, when seeing that Spar at Pineslopes shopping centre sent them some treats said Camilia du Plooy, the public relations officer of Hirsch Fourways.

“They greeted us with the sound of laughter and a cheers of “yes, yes, yes” when they saw us coming to their little day care,” she said. While the representatives were playing with the children, Ntuthuko Dube a representive from Stop Hunger Now explained to Du Plooy how they managed to get volunteers to help pack little feeding parcels that could fill up to six plates of food for people in need.

“This organisation relies solely on the generosity of corporate companies’ funding. They purchase the best products with the funds to stock these packs with rice, soya and blocked veggies,” said Du Plooy.

In the pack you would also find a multivitamin sashay to add to the mix when preparing with about 1.5 litres of water on a boiling pot she added. In order to qualify for support, small child care groups need to set up a saving plan for creches to upgrade the facilities stated Dube. He went onto say that they need to present proof of savings.

“That’s empowering and improving the people in our community, we thank them for the value they have added,” Du Plooy stated.
